Specialized, Archival, and International Materials
GW Libraries and Academic Innovation (LAI) stewards a wide variety of rare, archival, and international materials in both print and digital format in support of research, teaching, and learning at GW and beyond.
The Special Collections Research Center (SCRC), which includes the University Archives, has particular strength in American Labor History (the Labor History Research Center) and Education (National Education Association Archives), Judaica and Hebraica (the I. Edward Kiev Collection), the history of Washington, DC (DC History), and the history of the university (University Archives).
The Global Resources Center (GRC) offers international materials that parallel GW’s signature globally-focused programs, including policy studies, political science, international development, and cultural studies, with a particular focus on non-western countries and regions from the 20th century onward, including: China; Okinawa and Japan; Taiwan; Korea; Russia, Eurasia, and Eastern and Central Europe; and the Middle East and North Africa.
Our specialist staff and librarians closely collaborate with students, faculty, community members, and all those who seek to engage with primary and international source materials in their teaching, learning, and research.
