Building access is available to GW students, faculty, and staff who have completed all of the steps outlined on GW's Onward website. No one will be allowed to sign in without a physical GWorld card or enter the library if their GWorld card tap is denied. Library access is not available for alumni or visitors. Masks are required inside all library buildings.
The Virginia Science & Technology Campus (VSTC) Library is located at the George Washington University’s branch campus off of Route 7 in Ashburn, Virginia. The library is housed on the first floor of Enterprise Hall (Suite 179). It is an integrated part of the GW Libraries, sharing the same policies, digital resources, and access to research assistance as the Gelman Library (main campus) and Eckles Library (Mount Vernon Campus).
The VSTC Library serves the GW community with a special focus on our current students, faculty, GW sponsored researchers, staff and alumni who live, work, and take classes in Loudoun County. Our very small size and our relaxed, suburban campus setting provide a quiet atmosphere supporting deep focus and academic study.
During Fall Term 2021, entrance to VSTC Library study space is available 24/7 to GW students, faculty, and staff who have a physical GWorld card enabled for campus access. A mask covering the mouth and nose is required at all times inside library spaces. Onsite staff assistance is available weekdays, 9:30am - 6:00pm. There is no access for alumni, visitors from Consortium partner institutions, or the general public for any reason.
Students, staff and faculty using library spaces outside of regular business hours agree to abide by library conduct policies while working independently. Paper forms are provided at the library's front desk for afterhours and weekend book checkout.
Online-only and distance students and off-campus employees will continue using the GW Libraries’ Off-Campus Library Services.

Services and Spaces in the VSTC Library
The library’s main seating area offers 10 Windows PCs equipped with a variety of software for general student use, plus open table and chair seating to accommodate individuals and small groups. Quiet talking is permitted in our main seating area; headphones are required for audio use.
A Quiet Space room with additional PCs is available across from the library’s front desk for individual silent study (group and cell phone conversations are prohibited). Faculty and academic department staff may reserve this space for class meetings or exams by contacting our staff directly at least 3 business days in advance.
The library's five private study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis to accommodate small groups and individuals. These rooms offer large whiteboards and Wi-Fi access. Talking and audio are permitted at low levels.
Food Policy: Covered drinks are welcomed in the library; no food, please. Eating is permitted in hallway breakout rooms #177 and #178; and several picnic tables are provided at the entrance of Enterprise Hall for your convenience.
Scan, Copy and Print
The library’s Colonial Printing (WEPA) kiosk allows users to scan, copy, and print documents. The cloud-based service enables printing from our library computers and wirelessly from personal devices. Information about how to print, download print drivers to your mobile device, and pay for printing is available on the printing website.
Computers in the VSTC Library
The Library is equipped with 10 Windows computer workstations with Internet access for patron use in our main seating area. Our Quiet Space room contains 8 additional Windows computers, including a wheelchair-accessible workstation, plus a faculty instructor's workstation. See our list of available programs. (Note: We do not have Mac workstations in this library.)
Guest Access to Technology at VSTC
This section applies to WRLC partner institution members, ARL members, and sponsored event visitors without GW netIDs when library entrance policies permit access (individuals without an active GWorld Card are currently restricted under COVID policies).
Library Computers for Guests
Visitors from our partner institutions and GW event guests can fill out a guest account registration form online or at any of the public computers in the library. To complete your registration, bring a photo ID to the service desk staff at the VSTC Library. Guest accounts are valid for up to 6 months. If your account expires, see visit the desk to have it renewed or create a new account.
Guest account approval is limited to our weekday business hours and is dependent upon staff availability. We recommend contacting us by email or phone at least 2 business days prior to your visit to ensure staff will be able to assist you.
Printing for Guests
To use the printing kiosks as a guest, register for an account with our service provider WEPA. When you register, select "A Guest User" as your school. You can use a credit card, funds deposited to your WEPA account, or a WEPA preloaded card to pay for print jobs. You do not need to register for an account if you are printing from a USB drive and wish to pay with a credit card.
Visitors should connect to the GW_Connect wireless network. You may self-register for this network. Begin by connecting to the GW_Connect wireless network, and opening your web browser. You will be redirected to a registration page. If you are not redirected automatically, navigate to my.gwu.edu.
Borrow, Renew and Return Books
Search for books held at the VSTC Library, our other GW library branches, and our local Consortium library partners through the online catalog. Items held at partner libraries can be requested through the Consortium Loan Service for pickup at the VSTC Library or home delivery for our distance students. Our robust national and international library lending network allows you to request materials not available locally through our catalog and library databases through our Interlibrary Loan Service.

SON students may also view a list of nursing books available onsite at the VSTC Library.

- In our book drops: a blue bin for returns is located inside the north vestibule of Enterprise Hall (see photo at right: the side of the building faces George Washington Blvd). A book drop slot is also provided on the wall between Enterprise Hall Classroom #176 and the Library #179.

24/7 Library Study Space Access
GW students, faculty, and staff may access library study space with a valid GWorld Card when Enterprise Hall is open (typically 24/7). In-person assistance is available only during our staffed hours.
