The Gelman Library building is closed for a significant HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system maintenance project. Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library remains available for students and faculty of SMHS, GWSPH, and SON. For faculty and for students enrolled in summer courses at other GW schools, the Burns Law Library is available through August 10, 2026.

Media Reserves Procedures

Please complete this request form for media reserves. Links will be provided via the library catalog or in some cases added to your Blackboard course.

  • Requests for electronic media reserves are generally fulfilled within seven business days.
  • Some purchases may take from 4-6 weeks to become available.

To request any title, complete the Media Reserves Request Form.

Items from Swank Digital Campus, Kanopy, and other providers may also be requested and linked to the library catalog.

The following media items are NOT eligible for media reserves:

  • Titles from Netflix or other subscriber-only services
  • Titles from commercial vendors not licensed for academic use
  • Titles not available on DVD
