Cristabel Ocasio Ilarraza

Curious and passionate instructional designer with over ten years of experience in higher education, some of it in Puerto Rico, where I was born and raised. I hold two master's degrees, and I am a certified Quality Matters Peer Reviewer. I collaborate closely with faculty to create learner-centered experiences that are purposeful, humanizing, and that foster learner agency. My approach to instructional design has evolved over the years, growing more grounded in critical frameworks — including critical (digital) pedagogy, critical instructional design, and critical university studies. Most recently, I have developed a deep curiosity for educational anthropology — one I hope to nurture over time.
