I am a Data Services Librarian supporting Open Research and focused on helping students and researchers to maximize data accessibility, preservation, and access. My goal is to support research projects during various phases of the research lifecycle to ensure usability and long-term impact.
I provide support on data management and scholarly communications related projects including:
- Data Management Plans (DMPs) for grant proposals
- Locating Datasets
- Publisher Data Accessibility Policies
- Researcher Profile Management (i.e. ORCiD, Scopus, Web of Science, etc.)
- Public Access Policies
- Data Repositories
- Grant applications, including data-related requirements
- Journal Selection
- Publication best practices
- Research Impact and Research Information Management Systems
Prior to joining GW LAI, I served as the Scholarly Communications Librarian for the National Institutes of Health Library where I worked with intramural researchers to support publication and open research best practices. I also spent five years as the Metadata and Scholarly Communications Librarian at the GW Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library where I oversaw their Scholarly Communications Committee and managed their institutional repository. I hold a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington and Master’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Virginia. Prior to becoming a librarian, I worked in academic publishing for both the Johns Hopkins University Press and Yale University Press.
