Laura Arroyo, M.Ed./ CA, currently works as Program Coordinator of GW Academic Commons tutoring programs. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology & Sociology from the University of Hartford, and went on to get a Master of Education degree from Springfield College. She is currently in the process of obtaining her Ed.D. in Human Organizational Learning here at GW. Laura has a background working in educational spaces, and supporting students in literacy intervention & academic wellness, through the lens of equity. She also specializes in training college communities in topics concerning diversity & inclusion, implicit bias, bystander intervention, academic wellness, and mental health. Laura continues these efforts of educating the GW community by serving as Co-Leader for the GWLAI Diversity Equity and Inclusion team.
In her free time, Laura serves as Vice President of Education for Prospanica DC an organization specializing in creating valuable opportunities for Hispanic leaders in business. She also serves Prospanica's national team, through the Center for Social Justice as a Programming Chair. Lastly, Laura works as a certified victims advocate through the organization RAINN, supporting survivors of violent crimes.
