Ann Myatt James is a Data Services Librarian with GW’s Libraries and Academic Innovation (LAI). In this position, she works on a diverse team of librarians and information professionals who support researchers at all levels looking to find, use, analyze, visualize, publish, and preserve data of all types including quantitative, qualitative, and geospatial. Ann is especially excited to help researchers and instructors make and use maps, engage GIS and qualitative data analysis software, and manage and share their data resources. She also serves as co-lead of LAI's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
Ann arrived to GW LAI in 2019 with nearly 15 years of experience working with data as a geographic analyst and applied social science researcher at Penn State University, Bucknell University, University of Maryland-Baltimore, and Enterprise Community Partners, Inc. which is a non-profit community development organization in Columbia, Maryland. Ann has a BBA in Management Information Systems (MIS) and an MA in Geography from the University of Oklahoma as well as a PhD in Geography from Penn State University. Preferred pronouns are she/her.
