3D Printing

photo: Lulzbot Taz6 3D printer

Gelman is proud to offer 3-D printing to all GW students, faculty, and staff! 3-D printing (also called additive manufacturing) is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the entire object is created. If you would like to submit a job for printing, please fill out our submission form.

There is one Lulzbot Taz6 3D printer and one Makerbot Digitizer. The Taz6 has a print area of 280 mm x 280 mm x 250 mm (11.02 in x 11.02 in x 9.8 in). They print using ABS filament.

The Digitizer has a scan volume of 20.3 cm x 20.3 cm (8 x 8 in).
