Fortunoff Video Archive: Steps to locate, request, and view

GW Libraries and Academic Innovation is a partner site with Yale University, providing GW and the public with access to the Fortunoff Video Archive For Holocaust Testimonies. Access is available at any GW networked computer terminal on the Foggy Bottom campus and remotely if a GW affiliate is logged into GW's VPN.  Additional partner sites are available worldwide.

icon: number 1 Register an account

Go to the main site at https://fortunoff.aviaryplatform.com/. Click on Log In, and then Join Now. Please check the password help if you have trouble creating a password.

icon: number 2 Receive a Confirmation Email

After you submit the form, you will receive a confirmation email. Check your spam if it doesn’t show up in your inbox. This is just to verify that you are indeed a human and not a bot.

icon: number 3 Search and Request Access to Testimonies

Return to https://fortunoff.aviaryplatform.com/, login if necessary, and then search for a testimony. You can also click in the find content box and hit return. Click on a testimony in the search results and request access. You only need to request access to one testimony to obtain viewing rights for the entire collection. You should receive an approval email a few minutes after you make your request.

Once you get the approval email, if you’re sitting at a partner location, you can view any of our testimonies. Just refresh your browser.
