Winston Churchill's Sculptor

Aurelia Young

Join us as we welcome Lady Aurelia Young, who has recently published an acclaimed biography of her father, the famous portrait sculptor Oscar Nemon. Nemon sculpted busts and statues of many leading politicians and royalty during the last century, including President Eisenhower, Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth II.

In her illustrated talk Lady Young will trace Nemon's dramatic journey across Europe from his home in Croatia to seek refuge in England in the 1930s. Nemon's bust of Winston Churchill was installed in the Capitol, Washington in 2013.

Aurelia is the wife of the British Politician, Lord Young of Cookham.

Books will be available for sale.
