One of the reasons that Python is a popular programming language is that it can be easy for novices to learn. This workshop will introduce participants to programming by using Python to focus on the basic concepts that all programming languages build upon.
No prior programming knowledge is required, just a basic understanding of computer files and folders. Please bring a laptop to this workshop. In advance of the workshop, set up your computer as described at https://library.gwu.edu/python-workshop-setup.
This workshop is also offered on Thursday, March 23, 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
This workshop is part of the Build Your Skills Workshop Series which features practical, hands-on instruction in useful skills you may not learn in class. Other workshops in this Spring 2017 series are Build a Professional Website with Github Pages, Collaborating Using Github, How to Create Video Tutorials, Learn Linux Shell, Programming with Python, HTML/CSS/JS: How to Build a Web Page, Tagging, Finding, and Organizing Your Digital Files, and Intro to 3D Modeling with Tinkercad. All sessions will be first-come, first served.
