Join us for this workshop dedicated to finding geographic information systems (GIS) resources to support your research and projects. Learn the keywords that will unlock your searching and some "go to" resources from Kean McDermott, GW Libraries' GIS specialist. This is a stand-alone workshop with no prior GIS experience required.
This workshop is part of the Visualizing Data with GIS Workshop Series, which offers both introductory and in-depth sessions on using geographic information systems. Other workshops in this Fall 2016 series are Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS), GIS Interface Basics, Completing a Map and Cartographic Skills, and Web Mapping Made Easy with CartoDB. GIS Day on November 11 will feature a half-day immersion into GIS with three back-to-back sessions (GIS Interface Basics, Completing a Map and Cartographic Skills, and Web Mapping Made Easy with CartoDB). All sessions will be first-come, first served.
