The National Churchill Library and Center, in partnership with the International Churchill Society (ICS), will present an interview with United States National Security Advisor Ambassador Robert C. O’Brien on the applicability of Churchill’s leadership example in today’s world. Mr. O’Brien will be interviewed by Ambassador Mitchell B. Reiss.

Robert C. O’Brien
Prior to becoming the 28th—and current—US National Security Advisor, Mr. O’Brien also served the present administration as Special Envoy for Hostage Affairs with the rank of Ambassador from 2018 to 2019. Mr. O’Brien served in the administration of President George W. Bush as Alternate Representative to the 60th session of the United Nations General Assembly from 2005 to 2006; Co-Chairman of the U.S. Department of State’s Public-Private Partnership beginning in 2007; and as a member of the U.S. Cultural Property Advisory Committee for a three-year term beginning in 2008 He is a co-founding partner of Larson O’Brien LLP in Los Angeles, a nationally recognized litigation firm.
Mitchell B. Reiss
Mitchell B. Reiss is currently a Distinguished Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and is the former Director of Policy Planning under Secretary of State Colin L. Powell. He served as President George W. Bush’s Special Envoy to the Northern Ireland Peace Process from 2003 to 2007 with the rank of ambassador. From 2014 to 2019, he was President and CEO of The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and also served as President of Washington College from 2010 to 2014. Ambassador Reiss presently serves as co-chair of the International Churchill Society’s Operating Committee.
