Border Crossings

This annual symposium features a cross-disciplinary smorgasbord of border crossings, from Historical and Economic exchanges to Crip/Queer crossings, Genre and Intertextual blending, and the power dynamics of crossings within Gender, Race, and Place.

The culmination of the event will be a keynote presentation by University of Illinois's Mimi Thi Nguyen, Associate Professor of Gender and Womens Studies and Asian American Studies.  She is the author of The Gift of Freedom: War, Debt, and Other Refugee Passages (2012) as well as many other academic articles as well as a number of feminist and punk zines.
