School of Law

The current manuscript style guide for formatting the front pages of a Master’s of Law thesis is available for download below.

University formatting guidelines apply to the following elements in a School of Law master’s thesis:

  • Page size: 8.5” x 11”
  • Font type and size: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Page margins: left page margin 1.50 inches; right page margin: 1 inch; top and bottom margins: 1 inch
  • Page numbering for front pages: small Roman numerals
  • Page numbering for the body of the document: Arabic numerals

Write the body of the manuscript (chapters, bibliography and appendices) in a style appropriate for your field of study or your school-specific guidelines, with the exception of page margins, page numbering and page order. Styles for formatting bibliographies, footnotes, and/or endnotes should be consistent with the chosen style used to format the body of your document.
