ILL SERVICES AND COVID-19 IMPACT
Most but not all libraries have restarted lending their items through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Evolving local community conditions may occasionally impact our lending partner libraries' staffing and lending services, affecting the availability of items.
We are accepting requests to borrow items, which can be picked up at Gelman, Eckles, or VSTC libraries during scheduled hours or by appointment. For our eligible users not able to come to campus, we will ship ILL items via FedEx Ground upon request. In some cases, it may take 2-3 weeks to receive ILL books.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service available to current GW students registered for credit, current faculty members and staff.
You can request to borrow hard-copy books not available at any of the GW Libraries or Washington Research Libraries Consortium (WRLC) partner libraries. We also supply scanned book chapters and articles from the GW Libraries, WRLC libraries, and libraries around the world.
Looking for a textbook? Please visit GW Campus Stores for rental and purchase options. Interlibrary Loan is not a source for current textbooks. However, if you are looking for earlier editions of textbooks, we may be able to borrow those from other libraries.
If you are affiliated with the GW Schools of Public Health, Nursing or Medicine, please request via the Himmelfarb Library interlibrary loan service. If you are affiliated with the GW Law School, please request via the Jacob Burns Law Library interlibrary loan service. All other current GW faculty, students, and staff should log in here:
