Request Items: Consortium Loan

Students Enrolled in Off-Campus Programs: Follow these directions to have your request FedEx'd to your home.

How Do I > Request Items: Consortium Loan

Step 1: You've found an item in the catalog that you are interested in.  Once you click on the title you can find out more information about it, including where it is located. Follow the rest of the instructions if:  1. it it not available at Gelman or 2. you're enrolled as an off-campus student and you need it sent to your house.

Step 2:  Click on the blue "Request" adjacent to any copy that is available.

Step 3: The log in page opens. Log in.

Step 4image of CLS book request form: The request form opens.  The book's title appears at the top.

  •   Select the library where you would like to pick up the book. (The default is Gelman.)
  •   Unless you are a distance student, most requests do not have any "Special Instructions."
  •   Type your “University ID” in the bottom box.
  •   Click “Submit Request.”

(Fill the boxes under "Chapter/Section" ONLY if you are requesting a scan of a section of a book. Othewise leave them blank.)

Step 5: A confirmation message appears. It will take 2-3 days for the book to arrive. You will receive an email when your book arrives and is ready for pick up at Gelman's Circulation Desk on the 1st floor.

You may return the book at Gelman, at Eckles, or any of the other of the WRLC Consortium libraries.

Follow steps 1-3 as listed above, but for the journal title with the article you would like.

Step 4image of CLS article request form

  • If you are requesting an aritcle it will be scanned and sent to you electronically. If you are requesting the entire volume, then the physical item will be sent to the library where you would like to pick it up. (The default is Gelman.)
  • Most requests do not have any "Special Instructions"
  • Typically you will be requesting an article.  If the journal is in the WRLC Shared Collections Facility then you can request the entire bound journal in order to use it in your home  library.
  • Enter as many details about the article (title, author, volume, issue etc) as you can to insure you receive the correct article.
  • Type your “University ID” in the bottom box.
  • Click “Submit Request.”

Step 6: A confirmation message appears. It will take 2-3 days for the scan to be made. You will receive an email and a link when the scan is ready to download.

Item not available here OR at any other WRLC Consortium Library? In that case, place an Interlibrary Loan request for a copy of the book from ELSEWHERE.

REMEMBER: You can visit any of the WRLC Consortium Libraries in person and check materials out with your GWorld card. You may also make photocopies of journal articles yourself. Use this option if you can't wait for the delivery.
