Request Items: Interlibrary Loan

Step 1: Please confirm that neither GW Libraries nor member libraries of the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) provide access to the item(s) you need. Book or media titles should be searched in the Catalog and access to an article should be checked by conducting a journal title search.

Step 2 : From the GW Libraries homepage, hover over the Library Services menu and select Interlibrary Loan.

Step 3: On the Interlibrary Loan page, click "Place or Check Requests."

Step 4: You may be taken to the ILL screen directly. If not, on the authentication screen, enter your university name, netID, and password.

Step 5: If you are making a new request, select either "Article" (i.e., journal or magazine article, book chapter, or conference paper) or "Book or Video."

If you are a member of the Off-Campus Community, please add the following two steps to your request:

Step 6: Click on "Change User Information" and confirm your status, your GWID, preferred delivery method and mailing address. Review it and fill in the required fields. Then click the blue "Submit Information" button. Make sure the Delivery Methods are set to "Mail to Address". Be sure "Yes" is selected in "Preferred Electronic Delivery if Possible".
