Knight-Hennessy Scholars cultivates and supports a multidisciplinary and multicultural community of graduate students from across Stanford University, and delivers engaging experiences that prepare graduates to be visionary, courageous, and collaborative leaders who address complex challenges facing the world.
The KHS leadership program has three goals: to broaden scholars’ multicultural perspectives, to prepare scholars to drive meaningful results, and to deepen their commitment to the greater good. Each year KHS aims to select up to 100 graduate students based on their demonstration of independence of thought, purposeful leadership, and a civic mindset, and we fund up to three years of graduate study.
The Knight Hennessy Scholars endowment funds both the leadership development program and our scholars’ graduate studies. As a Knight-Hennessy scholar, students receive financial support that fully covers tuition and associated fees for up to three years of graduate study. If a degree program exceeds three years, then students will explore funding options with the Stanford department that offers their degree.
In addition to tuition and fees, scholars also receive a stipend for living and academic expenses and a travel grant to cover one annual economy-class ticket to and from Stanford. Scholars are also eligible to apply for supplemental funds supporting academic enrichment activities.
The foundation website and Blackboard (undergrads) or Google Drive (alumni) are your primary sources for this award. Undergraduates will gain access to the CUFR Blackboard Organization and alumni will gain access to CUFR's Google Drive in their first consultation.
