This workshop will help participants become comfortable with the key concepts of GIS and have them download and install ArcGIS Pro and make some basic maps of data. It will help learners access the software needed to make maps, introduce them to some of the words and phrases used by people who make maps, and become familiar with accessing sources of data for mapping and creating their own maps.
Instructions for downloading and installing ArcGIS Pro can be found online.
This workshop is part of the Mapping Your Data series which offers introductory and in-depth sessions working with location data and geographic information systems (GIS) software. If you're working on a mapping project and need personalized assistance, consider booking a consultation with a GIS specialist.
All sessions are free to GW students, faculty, staff, and alumni. GW has an institutional commitment to ensuring that all of our programs and events are accessible for all individuals. If you require any accommodations to participate in this event, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org at least 72 business hours (3 business days) prior to the event.
