Making Reading Matter to Students

Almost every course stresses the importance of “doing the reading.” But how can you motivate students to actually do the reading, and how can you help them develop the skills to do the reading well? This workshop offers strategies to help you recognize the characteristics of reading in your discipline and prepare students to be better readers. We’ll discuss situational and active reading approaches that refine students’ reading techniques and strengthen their reading stamina.  

This workshop is presented by the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE). The CTE provides comprehensive, integrated solutions for instructors in search of teaching solutions.
