For faculty and for students enrolled in summer courses at other GW schools, the Burns Law Library is available through August 10, 2026.

Compliance with the 2025 NIH Public Access Policy

As of July 1, 2025, an updated NIH Public Access Policy is in effect. The policy requires that all peer-reviewed journal articles resulting from NIH-funded research and published after July 1, 2025 must be made immediately available to the public in PubMed Central (PMC) upon publication. Embargo periods are no longer permitted under this revised policy.

Compliance with this updated policy is essential to securing and maintaining NIH funding.

The GW Research Data Management (RDM) Task Force—a cross-unit team focused on issues of data management, storage and compliance—has created guidance and resources to help you navigate these changes.
