Program Overview
Academic Commons offers free, one-on-one support from trained undergraduate tutors who have successfully completed the courses they support. Tutors are recommended by faculty, selected for their strong academic and interpersonal skills, and trained through our College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certified program. Tutoring is available for many undergraduate courses and sessions are offered in person or online, based on your preference. Rather than simply providing answers, our tutors engage students in active, collaborative learning to help build skills for long-term academic success.

How to Use Tutoring?
Scheduling a peer tutoring session is simple. You can sign up for appointments using your Penji account up until the scheduled start time. We recommend booking early, especially during busy times like midterms and finals, since slots fill up quickly. Details about the tutoring session, including location or Zoom link, can be accessed directly in Penji. While no preparation is required, it can be helpful to come with specific questions or materials you'd like to review. If you are unsure where to start, that's okay too.
