Thank you for your interest in the George Washington University Libraries and Academic Innovation (GWLAI)! As part of the larger George Washington University, we are responsive to the changing landscape of information, and sensitive both to traditional and emergent modes of communications. We bring together diverse constituents of students, faculty, and staff in a highly collaborative, dynamic, and deeply engaged community. To support our students in these ever-changing and exciting times, we rely on your philanthropic investment and welcome your partnership in ensuring that GWLAI remain a catalyst for new ideas and new possibilities both on campus and around the world.
GWLAI is the nexus for cross-disciplinary collaboration on campus, and our librarians are critical in helping our patrons navigate the constantly increasing volume of information available. From locating information in print to identifying patterns in text and structured data sets that are much too large for a human to sift through manually to demonstrating scholarly uses of emerging technology, librarians are indispensable partners in the research, teaching, and learning process.
We remain focused on building the best collections possible and providing the resources and services our users need to produce new knowledge. The research libraries of the 21st century will establish their identities by their specialized collections and strong services. These rich collections form the core of research, teaching, and learning, and support the academic endeavors of our community of students and scholars. Today, unique scholarly assets include not only manuscripts and print works, but born-digital collections such as videos of oral histories, documentaries, email correspondence, social media posts, soundtracks, digital art, and research data sets. It is imperative that we ensure these new resources are discoverable and preserved, just as print resources have been.
The resources GWLAI needs to facilitate these discoveries can only be realized with help from you, our generous friends and partners who recognize the power of information, and the unlimited future of knowledge. Your contributions make it possible for our community to change the world!
There are so many new things happening here at GWLAI and across the university. We welcome the opportunity to give you insights into how gifts impact every student and faculty member on campus, the visiting researchers who work with our specialized collections, and the more than 275,000 GW alumni worldwide. Please enjoy our website, and if you would like to schedule a visit, please contact Tracy Sullivan, Director of Development, at 202-994-8928 or email@example.com. Thank you for your interest!
