How to place an order...
For items that are not held electronically in our database resources (e.g. e-journals), search the library catalog for a local copy of a book title or print journal. Many items held at our partner institutions may be requested directly through the Consortium Loan System (CLS) using catalog "Request" links. See CLS instructions here.
When the request form opens, fill in any book chapter or article information, if applicable, to receive a scan of selected pages (subject to any copyright restrictions). If requesting an entire book or bound volume, you may leave those fields blank. Select the library where you would like to pick up the book. (For students enrolled in Virginia Science and Technology Campus programs, the default delivery location is George Washington - VSTC-Ashburn. You may change this to a different pickup location prior to submitting your request, if desired.) Qualifying distance students may request USPS postal mail delivery by typing their preferred mailing address into the notes field.
A confirmation message appears with a CLS request transaction number. You will receive an automated email when your book arrives and is ready for pick up at the library's circulation desk. If you have requested mail delivery, we will send a second confirmation email when the book has been packaged for shipping (please allow 2 hours from the time you receive the automated "pickup" notice for shipping confirmation before contacting library staff about the status). You may return the book at any of the WRLC Consortium Libraries.
