3D Printing is currently unavailable. Both of our printers are down for repair. We're working on restoring the service as soon as possible.

3d printer

Gelman is proud to offer 3-D printing to all GW students, faculty, and staff! 3-D printing (also called additive manufacturing) is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the entire object is created. If you would like to submit a job for printing, please fill out our submission form.

There are two Makerbot Replicator 2x 3d printers and one Makerbot Digitizer 3d scanner.

The Replicator 2x printers are capable of printing an object up to 24.6 W x 16.3 L x 15.5 H centimeters (9.7 W x 6.4 L x 6.1 H inches). They print using an ABS filament in a variety of colors. It is possible to print an object in two different colors.

The Digitizer can scan and create a print file for an object up to 20.3 x 20.3 x 20.3 centimeters (8 x 8 x 8 inches).
