The Special Collections Research Center provides various access tools that allow researchers to locate useful materials. For more information, please view our page on Searching Special Collections.
In addition to these tools, Special Collections Research Center staff members are available for reference consultations to discuss a research topic, help formulate search strategies, and locate useful materials. We have the capacity to assist remote users with questions that do not require more than one hour of research time. We can also help with accessing and effectively using online resources and answering simple fact-based questions, such as determining whether a person graduated from GWU.
For those patrons who are unable to visit, but have an in-depth research question, please see this list of local, independent researchers for hire, compiled by the U.S. National Archives.
Please contact the Special Collections Research Center (firstname.lastname@example.org) with inquiries.
