Open Forum March 7: The Future of Occupy?
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters Labor History Research Center is hosting a forum on Wednesday, March 7 on the Occupy movement. Doors open at 5:30 pm for light refreshments, and the forum begins at 6 pm.
The focus of the forum will be on the particular dynamics and challenges of the Occupy movement in the District of Columbia. Discussion will include the encampment tactic, the challenges of sustaining a radical left movement in an election year, and the relevance of Occupy both to academia and organized labor.
The forum is free and open to the public. Discussion will be in the format of a moderated panel, with ample time for audience participation. The Labor History Research Center is located on the 7th floor of Gelman Library (2130 H St. NW). Non-GW visitors will need to sign in and present photo ID at the entrance.
