Murder and Mystery in Argentina: Translations and Cross-Cultural Conversations with Sergio Waisman

This event has already taken place, please don't try to go to it!
Murder & Mystery in Argentina

Join us for a conversation with Sergio Waisman, GWU Professor of Spanish and Latin American Literature, as we discuss how texts travel out of one culture and into another through translation. Waisman is the translator of several works by Argentine author Roberto Piglia, most recently Target in the Night (2015). Discussion will include brief readings as well as a conversation with Kathryn Kleppinger, GWU Assistant Professor of French, regarding the challenges of translating culturally specific language and references.
