Monograph Acquisitions Group
The Monograph Acquisitions Group coordinates and facilitates the selection, purchase, and preservation of library materials in any format, and provides access to information needed to support the education and research mission of the University. Members of the Monograph Acquisitions are responsible for the acquisition and management of print and electronic monographs, including non-book formats and those standing and/or blanket orders that are catalogued separately. In addition to traditional print books, CD-ROMs, DVDs, and streaming videos, the Monographic Acquisition Group manages eBooks that are selected at the title-level, and purchased to own in perpetuity.
The Monograph Acquisitions Group members are cross-trained to perform several related monographs functions including ordering, receiving, RDA and DLC copy and FASTCat cataloging, claiming, invoice verification and processing, and quality control. Members of the Monograph Acquisitions Group also perform physical processing for all library material and manage the loading dock operations.
The overriding mission of the Monograph Acquisitions Group is to get material ordered within days of selection, electronically accessible or moved from dock to shelf within the shortest possible time frame.
