Interesting Find in the NEA Collection: Esther Bubley Photographs
Esther Bubley was an American photographer known for capturing images of everyday life and ordinary people. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, the Frick Art & Historical Center and the Library of Congress. You can find more information about her life and work here In 1968, she took a series of photos of schoolchildren in the Los Angeles area for the National Education Association. These photos are part of a larger effort by the NEA to document everyday life for educators and students. Now visitors to Special Collections can see Bubley's work for themselves. Here is a teaser:
